## Open Graph View

- **Cmd+K → Graph View** — Builds a graph of the entire current vault/workspace.
- **Cmd+K → Graph Current Folder** — Builds a graph restricted to the directory of the currently active file.

## Nodes & Edges

In the Graph View, each Markdown file acts as a node. Edges (links) are formed automatically when files reference each other using standard \[\[wikilinks\]\], Markdown link syntax pointing to local .md files, or !\[\[embeds\]\]. Tags also appear as nodes, helping you discover files connected by common topics.

## Interaction

Hover over any node to highlight its immediate connections, dimming the rest of the graph to focus on related thoughts. Click and drag a node to pin it in place. Double-click a pinned node to unpin it and let it settle back into the layout. Clicking a node opens the corresponding note in a new tab.

## Filtering

The Graph View toolbar provides quick toggles to refine the visualization. You can toggle wikilink nodes, tag nodes, or hide "orphans" (files with no links in or out) to instantly clear up the visual noise and focus on interconnected structures.

## Force-Directed Layout

The graph utilizes a custom high-performance force-directed layout algorithm. Nodes exert many-body repulsion against each other to prevent overlaps, while edges act as springs that pull connected nodes together. A slight gravitational force towards the center prevents the graph from flying away. The system uses a cooling mechanism (alpha decay) so the nodes naturally settle into a stable arrangement.
