Privacy | Liu Terminal

Liu Terminal privacy policy. Liu runs locally and does not collect personal data or telemetry.

What Liu collects, and what it doesn't.

Short answer: nothing leaves your machine unless you tell it to. Long answer below.

Local only

Liu has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporter, and no phone-home check. The app does not embed a third-party SDK. The binary you run is the binary you can build from source.

What stays on disk

Hosts, keys, snippets and groups live in an SQLite database under <code>~/.config/Liu/vault.db</code>, encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your unlock passphrase via Argon2id. Sensitive buffers get wiped with <code>crypto_secure_zero</code> on lock. Themes and <code>config.json</code> sit unencrypted in the same directory because they don't carry secrets.

Agent History parses on-disk session stores belonging to the AI CLIs you already have installed (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, OpenCode, Cline, …). It never copies or uploads them: it reads, normalises, and re-points the original tool's resume command at the chosen entry. The Create Theme feature shells out to whichever local agent you pick; Liu does not send anything to a server of its own.

Network

SSH, SFTP, Mosh, Telnet and serial sessions go to whatever endpoint you point them at. <code>liu-notify</code> listens on a local Unix socket: it does not bind to the network. The website you are reading this on serves only static assets and does not set cookies.
